Poems

AFRICAN LAND

  • A land full of Circles of gold, minerals and vegetation
  • A land of blessed hope.
  • A land of Peace, joy, love and humility.
  • How are we going to apply our senses to produce marvelous things?
  • How are we going to seize the opportunity?
  • God has given us the wisdom and knowledge
  • We can do and do it better.
  • Stand up and rise for your freedom.
  • Let’s help our mother Africa to regain its future.

LIFE

  • Life, life, life is like an egg,
  • If you are not careful you will reach to nowhere.
  • Life is precious, yes it is precious.
  • Life can be good to you and bad to you.
  • Depending on how careful you are with you egg.
                      • By: Cosmos Mintah 3B/C

AIM

  • Oh! Aim how can I possess you?
  • Precious treasure comes from a virtuously achieved aim.
  • Oh!!! Aim, where can I find you?
  • Are you hiding in the darkness of laziness?
  • Are residing in the bosoms of hard work and determination?
  • Laziness is your number one enemy.
  • Hard work and determination are your best friends.
  • Oh! God please help me to be determine and hardworking,
  • So that I can achieve my earnestly desired aim.

THE VALUE OF SMILE

  • It costs nothing but creates much.
  • It enriches those who receive
  • Without impoverishing those who give it.
  • It happens in a flash and the memory of it lasts forever..
  • None is so rich that can get along without it.
  • And none is so poor but are richer for its benefits.
  • It is rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged,
  • Sunshine to the sad and nature’s best antidote for the troubles.
  • Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed or stolen ,
  • For it is something of no earthly good to anybody till it is given away.
  • For nobody needs a smile so much as those who have none to give.

TO A LAZY MAN

  • Disappoint procrastination and commit yourself.
  • Stop wishing and start willing.
  • Stop proposing and start purposing.
  • Stop procrastinating and start planning.
  • Determine to die empty and leave earth an inheritance
  • That gives life to others.
  • Great works are performed by perseverance and hard work.

PORTRAIT OF GOOD LIFE

  • You speak so loud.
  • The world can’t hear what you say.
  • They are looking at your work.
  • Not listening to your talk.
  • They’re judging by your actions everyday.
  • Don’t believe you are deceived.
  • By claiming what you’ve never known.
  • For they know you to be by what they can see.
  • They will judge by your life alone.
              • By:  Xonu Dafris Godric 3E
  • WHOM DO YOU BLAME?
  • Whom do you blame,
  • When all you do is sit, sit idle and stare,
  • Stare unconcerned about your future,
  • When even if you knew, your slothfulness and
  • apathy could never, never capture?
  • Whom do you blame, when you lie dreaming
  • Dreaming away your precious life, dreaming
  • about nothing, which lavishes greatness upon you!
  • Remember, time with its swift wings,
  • Flies, lies, flies away uncaptured.
  • And carries with it unutilized opportunities.
  • Till at last all your chances fade,
  • Fade irretrievably into gloomy nothingness.
  • Then friends, whom do you blame?
                  • By: Goka Bernard 3E

TO A FATHER WHO DID NOT CARE.

  • I did not ask to be born,
  • You had me.
  • I needed love, You did not give me.
  • I wanted care, I had none.
  • Now that I ‘m grown, you want me
  • Because you are alone, But what can I give you?
  • Nothing!
                    • By: Goka Bernard 3E

MY TEACHER

  • My devoted teacher,
  • You are the backbone of my success
  • You are important for my future
  • You ensure there is never any excess
  • You answer all my questions
  • Both the good and the bad
  • You are unhappy when late for school
  • All for my sake.
  • You examine me even though you are not a doctor
  • You scold and rebuke me when I go wrong
  • You fall sick because we make you talk too much.
  • Oh! How can I ever thank my teacher?
  • Who can help me thank my teacher?
  • Sir don’t worry
  • God’s blessings will be yours forever.

PEER INFLUENCE

  • My destiny has always been in my hands
  • But why did I not know?
  • Do I blame my friends or my youthful joys?
  • Some of my friends or my youthful joys,
  • Some of my friends seem to just play.
  • I play with them thinking we are all playing.
  • But they learn more than they play.
  • Now I know, I must sit up so that my
  • Future will not be rough, so I will earn a
  • Living on my own and be an asset not a
  • Liability till eternity.
  • I must sit up, pray hard, learn hard, workhard
  • And become useful to my Creator,
  • My parents, my friends, my country and the whole world.

PICK GODLY FRIEND

  • No man is ever on an Island
  • You will surely pick a friend
  • But always remember that
  • Friends that can make your life
  • Worthy in the world.
  • Never pick a fair weather friend
  • A fair weather friend will
  • Come when your bag is full
  • But bolt when are dry and clean.
  • Choose a friend of God who can never
  • Leave you alone No matter your situation.
  • Choose a friend of God for your future to uphold.
