MAIN COURSES

SPATS is known for its academic and practical activities.

Academic Studies:

For basic tertiary level: Form 1 students study English, Mathematics, Science, Calculation, Technical drawing. And also all the theories which are required according to the student’s main course, such as theory in Automechanic; Mechanical, Electrical; Building and Constructions; Carpentry and Joinery. In addition since Form 1 is the basic Form, students are required to extend their studies of the subjects that are related to their courses. For example; Mechanical is related to Auto and Electricals. So Mech students have to study also the basic theory of Auto and Electricals. Likewise Auto students have to study the basic theory of Electricals and Mechanical. And the same is true with the Electrical students.

Form 2 students study English, Mathematics, Science, Calculation, Technical drawing, Bible Knowledge. And also all the theories which are required according to the student’s course. Unlike the Form 1 students they don’t study the related courses anymore. But focus on their respective main course’s subjects.

Form 3 students study higher English, Mathematics, Science, Calculation, Technical drawing. And well as all the theories of their required courses. This time they are studying with much consentration and comprehention since they are writing “external examination”. This is the NationalTechnical Examination of the Ghana Education System (NTEGES). Hence, a lot of review are done in this level.

The advance students. As the name suggests, the students in this level are studying advance subjects which are not taught on the basic level. Here, after they complete their studies, they can receive their certificates and diplomas

Practical Studies:

This activity involves mainly the harnishing of the practical skills of the students in their spicified field of studies: Practicals of Mehcanical; Practicals of Automechanic;  Practicals of Electrrical;  Practicals of Building and Construction;  Practicals of Carpentry and Joinery.

Because of the importance of the practical aspect, the students devote several hours of practice a day.
